Why Kylian Mbappe and PSG could be facing an unexpected trip to Congo

As Ligue 1 champions, PSG will have to take on last season’s Coupe de France winners Toulouse in the Trophee des Champions. However, the game is yet to go ahead having been originally scheduled for August before it was unexpectedly postponed.

The game has since been rescheduled for January 3 and it was initially expected to be moved to Qatar or Saudi Arabia. According to Le Parisien, however, DR Congo has emerged as the likely destination for the clash between PSG and Toulouse. Nothing has been decided yet, however, and the match could still end up being played in France after all.

The French super cup was initially supposed to be played in Bangkok, Thailand, in August. However, the original organisers cancelled the event, with reports claiming that the cause was down to the health of the daughter of King Rama X.

PSG and Toulouse will likely go head to head in early January. Before that, however, PSG will take on Monaco on November 24 as they look to hold onto top spot in Ligue 1. Afterwards, they will meet Newcastle in the Champions League.
