man utd transfer news

Man Utd transfer news suffered a slow start compared to other top teams in the English Premier League. Also considering the fact that fellow manchester team and the current Premier League champions, Man city bought prolific striker Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund a few weeks into the transfer window.

It can be recalled that the 2022 summer transfer window opens at 12am on June 10, 2022, and is set to close at 11pm on September 1, 2022.

Manchester United kick starts the transfer window in slow motion following their inability to land any player at Old Trafford all through the month of June.

Man Utd Transfer News Today

As of today, Manchester United have confirmed the signing of two players at Old Trafford so far this summer. Feyenoord defender Tyrell Malacia joined the club for a fee of £14.7m followed by Christian Eriksen who joined the Red devils from Brentford on a free transfer.

Also, ten Hag’s side are still in close chase of Frankie de Jong whom Barcelona are reluctant of selling out but the young lad is eager to leave the Catalan club this summer.

Manchester United are closing on a £57 million deal with Ajax for Martinez

Man Utd have agreed to terms of up to £57 million for Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez, who will sign a five-year deal at Old Trafford.

The Red devils are willing to pay a whooping €57 million (£48.5 million) for the Argentine, with a supplementary €10 million (£8.5 million) in add-ons negotiated between both clubs. Martinez will reunite with former Ajax manager Erik Ten Hag at Old Trafford, Ten Hag signed him for Ajax in 2019, and no doubt will like to continue under his former boss.

However, the deal is subjected to medical and visa approval, with finalization expected later this week. These requirement must be met and satisfied before he signs a five-year contract in Manchester, with the possibility of an additional year.

Eriksen joins Manchester United on a free transfer.

Following a thorough medical, Manchester United has finalized the signing of former Brentford midfielder Christian Eriksen on a three-year contract.

The 30-year-old has bolstered Erik ten Hag’s midfield options at Old Trafford after rejecting a return to Brentford, where he impressed on loan last season.

Due to the long flight from the UK, Denmark ace midfielder Eriksen will not be allowed to join his Man United at Australia for their pre-season tour.

But he is fit and ready to resume training alongside his new teammates the moment they return to england.

Man Utd are confident in their pursuit of De Jong.

Man United maintains their confidence in a possible signing of Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

United and Barcelona have reached a “broad agreement” on the fee, which is thought to be €65 million (£56 million) plus performance-related add-ons.

It can be recalled that United’s Chief executive Richard Arnold and football director John Murtough couldn’t travel with the team on the pre-season tour and they have been in Spain in a bid to land the young lad at Old Trafford this summer.

The club’s chief executive, Richard Arnold, and football director, John Murtough, are still in dialogue with Barcelona representatives about a possible transfer for de Jong. However, the deal suffered a major set back as the midfielder has deferred wage issues. De Jong is currently being  is owed £17 million after taking agreeing to a pay cut during the pandemic.

Ronaldo is not for sale and is in my plans – Ten Hag.

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, reaffirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo is not up for sale and will be part of his team for the upcoming campaign.

Erik ten Hag further emphasized that Cristiano Ronaldo will not be leaving Old Trafford this summer and will be part of Manchester United’s season-long plans.
“We are planning with Ronaldo for this season,” the United manager added. I’m eager to work with him.

Ten Hag said when asked if Ronaldo wanted to leave: “He hasn’t told me this. Although I have read on media that he is ready to exit the club but as I said earlier, Cristiano is not for sale; he is part of our plans, and we hope to achieve good success together. Before this matter arose, I chatted with him. I spoke with him and we had a great conversation. He never sound unhappy at man utd neither did he notify me of his exit plans

Man United still looking for attackers and midfielders.

Erik ten Hag revealed that Manchester United are still actively searching for new players, with midfielders and strikers at the top of the list.
Last week, it was revealed to Sky Sports News that Man United and Barcelona have a “broad agreement” on a cost for Frenkie de Jong that is thought to be €65 million (£56 million) with performance-related add-ons.
Although Ten Hag was unable to discuss specific targets, he did state that “we are looking at players in the midfield as well as in attack.”

There is nothing I can say to help you with this problem. The ideal players are what we seek. We have a really strong team, are refining our style of play, and will take advantage of any openings.

Tielemans will decide about Leicester future.

This week, Youri Tielemans will meet with manager Brendan Rodgers to talk about his future at Leicester City.
He has one year remaining on his current contract, although he has routinely rejected offers of a new one.
Arsenal has long been a fan of the midfielder, but the £34 million acquisition of Fabio Vieira, from FC Porto, who fills a similar function to Tielemans, makes it unlikely that they will seek a deal with Leicester at the moment.
Although they haven’t made any firm proposals, Manchester United and Newcastle are apparently also considering Tielemans.

Rangers Youngster Sets Celtic Fans Alight with Bold Celebration in Epic Kilmarnock Moment

Rangers Youngster Sets Celtic Fans Alight with Bold Celebration in Epic Kilmarnock Moment!

In a Scottish Premiership clash that had fans on the edge of their seats, Rangers’ loanee Findlay Curtis turned heads with a cheeky celebration that has since gone viral online. The 19-year-old, on loan at Kilmarnock, was at the heart of the drama as his side surged into an early lead against fierce rivals Celtic at Rugby Park — and he didn’t hold back in celebrating it.

Curtis, deployed in a more advanced role for this fixture, made the most of his opportunity. After Tyreece John-Jules opened the scoring and Kilmarnock doubled their advantage, cameras caught the young winger raising his arms and gesturing in celebration directly in front of the Celtic supporters in the away end — a moment that instantly lit up social media.

Although his exuberant celebration was quickly cut short when veteran keeper Kasper Schmeichel ushered him away, the damage was done — pundits and fans alike have been talking about it ever since. That kind of on-field bravado in front of the rival support doesn’t happen every day, and it’s one that will stick in the minds of supporters on both sides.

Whether you see it as passionate football emotion or a bit of mind games, Curtis’ reaction added another unforgettable moment to a season already packed with drama and rivalry — showing once again why the Scottish Premiership never fails to entertain.

End of the Road at Parkhead? Andy Walker Drops Brutal Verdict on Celtic’s Japanese Duo

“Are Celtic’s Japanese Stars Past Their Best? Andy Walker Predicts End of the Road for Maeda & Hatate”

Recent pundit commentary has stirred fresh debate among fans of Celtic Football Club, with veteran analyst Andy Walker making bold claims about two of the team’s key Japanese players — Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate. Walker’s verdict? This could be the final chapter at Parkhead for both players if they don’t turn their seasons around.

Struggles on the Pitch

Walker’s view stems from both men’s current dip in form. Hatate, normally a creative midfield presence, was recently scrutinised after a costly mistake led to a penalty for Livingston — and Walker suggested it might be time for him to lose his place temporarily in the starting XI to find confidence again.

Meanwhile, Maeda — who once electrified Scottish football with blistering pace and a PFA Player of the Year-winning season — has yet to recapture that spark this campaign. The forward is playing well below the high standards he set previously, and Walker believes both he and Hatate may have run their course at Celtic unless they rediscover their best form before the season ends.

Why This Matters

Walker’s assessment resonates beyond just match performance:

  • Maeda’s Blocked Transfer: Earlier in the season, Maeda openly admitted he wanted a move away — only for Celtic to block it — and pundits speculated this block may have affected his focus and sharpness.
  • Legacy and Timing: If both players fail to make a strong impact before the campaign’s conclusion, Walker argues their legacies at Celtic could be overshadowed by disappointment rather than remembered for their earlier success.

 The Bigger Picture

Celtic’s squad is at a crossroads. With new tactics, fresh faces and evolving expectations under manager Brendan Rodgers, long-serving players must justify their place or risk being phased out. Walker’s blunt but insightful commentary has sparked fresh debate among supporters over who should lead the club forward — and who’s time might be running out.

Adrie van der Poel deelt verontrustend bericht over Mathieu

Published

on
