It can be recalled that the summer transfer window begins on June 10 and is set to end on September 1 at 11 p.m.

In this post, we shall wrap up Chelsea transfer news, rumours, and gossip for the summer of 2022.
With negotiation in progress, Sevilla defender Kounde was not part of the squad that travel for the club’s pre-season tour. According to reports, Chelsea have made an offer that doubles that of rivals Barcelona and appears to be the favorite in signing the young defender.
Chelsea and Kounde have been in a verbal agreement since June. Tuchel has long admired him, and he sees the summer transfer window as an ample opportunity to land the defender at Stamford Bridge.
Tuchel is looking forward to adding more quality to the center-back of his squad after the exit of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

Tuchel believes Broja will stay.
Thomas Tuchel has dismissed reports that Armando Broja will leave the London club on loan this summer.
Broja had impressed massively when he spent a year on loan at Southampton last season, and all hints are that he will be part of Tuchel’s plans this season, however, the young lad is in dire search of a new opportunity that will present him with enough playing time.
West Ham have been in active negotiations with Chelsea ahead of a possible transfer of Armando Broja.
“I don’t think he’ll leave,” Tuchel added. “I am aware of the offers and the interest.” The owner, myself and the player will resolve the issue amicably in no distant time.

Chelsea has signed Napoli’s Koulibaly.
Chelsea has agreed to pay a fee of around £33 million for Napoli’s full-back Kalidou Koulibaly.
The Senegalese international, which has 62 caps for Senegal, has agreed to a four-year deal worth around £160,000 a week (£8.2 million per year) net performance bonuses to join Chelsea.
On Friday, he flew to Las Vegas to join his new teammates on their pre-season tour of the United States.
Nathan Ake is not leaving Manchester City this summer
Manchester City defender Nathan Ake is expected to stay at the club this summer, as Chelsea’s hopes for defensive reinforcements were dashed yet again.
According to The Athletic’s reporter David Ornstein, City has no intention of selling the Netherlands international except if his valuation has been met.
The player is said to be delighted to be staying with the Premier League champions, with his versatility considered as important to his place in Pep Guardiola’s first-team squad.
According to the Athletic, Chelsea’s interest has never been substantiated by a suitable offer.
According to the report, Chelsea will shift their focus to PSG center-back Presnel Kimpembe, with the two clubs currently in serious talks.
Thomas Tuchel call convinced Conor Gallagher to stay
In his loan season at Crystal Palace, Conor Gallagher has scored eight goals and been called up to the England national team. Conor Gallagher, is hoping to become a priority for the Premier League club Chelsea, after been guaranteed of a place in manager Thomas Tuchel’s plans.
Gallagher, who spent last season’s loan spell at Crystal Palace, is yet to play for Chelsea, leading to speculation about his future at the London club.
“(Tuchel) stated that “ he desires me in the squad and he will expect me to prove myself in pre-season, so that’s the plan,” Gallagher explained to BBC.
“It’s exactly what I wish to hear; it was a pleasant phone call, and it provided me with a clear plan for preseason and where I’ll be. It was wonderful to hear.”
Gallagher, who has four England caps and made his first appearance against San Marino last year, was a backbone of Patrick Vieira’s Palace last season, having scored eight goals in 38 games and earning the team’s supporters’ Player of the Season award. Gallagher’s contract with Chelsea expires in 2025.
“Everyone wishes to play as much as they can,” he said, “but I’m ready to work as hard as I can to be on the field of play as much as possible.”
“There really are lots of world-class players in Chelsea present squad, and it’s clearly a difficult team to break into, but if that challenge is there, I think I’d be foolish not to take it.”

Chelsea has completed a £47.5 million Sterling transaction.
Raheem Sterling has joined Chelsea from Manchester City in a £47.5 million deal.
The 27-year-old has signed a 5-year deal with Chelsea with the option of an additional year at Stamford Bridge and has already joined Thomas Tuchel’s squad on their pre-season tour in the United States.
Lukaku has returned to Inter Milan on loan.
Romelu Lukaku has returned to Inter Milan after having completed a season-long loan spell from Chelsea, with no intention to buy.
Inter will however pay Chelsea a loan fee of £6.9 million plus £3.5 million in incentives if they win the League title this season, and will also pay all of his wages this season.
Lukaku has agreed to a 30% pay cut to smooth his exit, with his earnings set to fall from £10 million after tax to £7 million.

AC Milan is confident of concluding a deal with Ziyech.
Chelsea has a contract with Hakim Ziyech until 2025. However, according to Sky in Italy, AC Milan are confident they will be able to complete a deal to sign Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech this summer.
New contact has been established between the two clubs, with Milan eager to make their first addition to the squad this season.
Ziyech has been with Chelsea since February 2020, when he joined from Ajax for £33.3 million.

Matheus Nunes – When Chelsea first bid for Nunes, he was thought to be the Blues first signing in the summer transfer but the deal failed to pull through. In the first week of July, the London club made a €50 million bid for Sporting Lisbon’s star but unfortunately, the deal goes the other way.
Nathan Ake – Hardly would one ever think Nathan Ake will be linked with Etihad’s exit following his massive impact for Man City last season when Guardiola’s key defenders got injured. However, Chelsea looked beyond the odds to bed for the Ukrainian.
Man City were willing to let go of the central defender as they requested a transfer fee far above Chelsea’s bid. According to The Sun, Man City were asking for a fee of around £50 million to allow Ake to join the London club. If the deal pulls through it will be a homecoming for the former Chelsea player.
Mohamed Salah – When Salah refused to renew his contract with Liverpool, Chelsea were in serious negotiation to re-sign the former Chelsea man. Unfortunately, a synergy was reached and the Egyptian star signed a new contract with Liverpool that made him the highest paid player in the club’s history.
Cristiano Ronaldo – What could be termed the most shocking news in the summer transfer was Cristiano Ronaldo’s declaration of his possible exit from Manchester United. No one saw it coming but it happened. The Man United legend declared his interest of leaving the club this summer for reasons best known to him.
The Portuguese was left of United’s squad that traveled for the club’s pre-season tour and have since received interest from many top clubs including Chelsea. Although no official proclamation was made by the club new manager nor a price mentioned, but Chelsea have long backed out of negotiation after the arrival of Man City winger, Raheem Sterling.
Neymar Jnr – At a point this summer, PSG forward Neymar Jnr declared his intention of leaving the club and Chelsea were quick to show their keen interest in the star boy. Thiago Silva also made a comment on the possible signing of Neymar Jnr when he said he would have loved it if Neymar join him at Chelsea.

Christopher Nkunku – RB Leipzig forward Nkunku is currently at the top of his career after a successful outing last season. After his contract expired this summer a lot of clubs trooped in a bid to sign the play, but the ace striker shun interest from the top English teams to sign a four-year contract with the club.
Allan Saint-Maximin – Newcastle are very happy with Saint-maximin but the player is not really happy with the club. The magpies are surrounded by debt and are not financially buoyant enough to pay him a sizeable amount as his wage thereby willing to sell him off this summer to solve of the club’s debt.
The news of Maximin’s exit drew the attention of some of the English big teams including Chelsea, but a suitable agreement wasn’t reached by both parties and the midfielder stays at the club.
Gabriel Slonina – Since the Exit of Chelsea veteran goalkeeper Petr Cech, the blues have been in search of a backup goalkeeper thereby bidding for Slonina of Chicago Fire. However, Chelsea’s £10 million offer was turned down by the club.
The latest Chelsea players to be linked with a possible exit
Armando Broja – The Chelsea striker Broja is a key target for West Hamn and Newcastle United this summer. It was reported that West Ham made an offer of about £30 million to sign the player but Thomas Tuchel is neither ready to sell the Blues forward nor is he ready to let go of the young talent on a loan move. Perhaps if an agreement is reached, Broja may be leaving the club this summer or possibly be on loan.
Timo Werner – Just as many fans believed Werner needs to be given a little more time to prove himself, the Chelsea forward is planning to seek for an opportunity elsewhere as the struggling Blues forward declared his intention of leaving the club this summer.
Ross Barkley – It won’t be a surprise if Chelsea let go of Ross Barkley this season as the player seems not to be in Tuchel’s plan. Also considering the arrival of quite a number of players at the club this summer, Chelsea will definitely be in need of money and as such, some players ought to be released.
Billy Gilmour – Gilmour may be heading to Everton on a season-long loan spell.
Kepa Arrizabalaga – The Chelsea goalkeeper is a key target for Napoli who are willing to bid for Kepa on loan.
Jorginho – The Chelsea number one penalty-taker has declare his intention of leaving the London club this summer.

Hakim Ziyech – AC Milan target Hakim Ziyech is on a verge of a possible move to the Italian giants this summer.

BREAKING NEWS: Chelsea FC named Graham Potter as new Head Coach
Graham Potter has been named the head coach of Chelsea with a five-year deal.

After taking over during the summer, Todd Boehly appoints Potter as his first managerial choice. In a thorough reorganization of Roman Abramovich’s trusted staff, the American is still serving as sporting director after replacing director Marina Granovskaia, chairman Bruce Buck, and technical and performance advisor Petr Cech.
According to Sky Sports News, Chelsea has compensated Brighton the sum of £21.5 million for Potter and the other four employees who followed him to Stamford Bridge.
Boehly’s comment on Graham Potter
“Graham Potter is a seasoned manager and a pioneer in the Premier League who fits our vision for the team, and we are happy to bring him to Chelsea,” stated Boehly following Potter’s hiring. He is not only incredibly talented on the field, but he also possesses skills and abilities that will help Chelsea become a more prosperous team.
“We look forward to continuing to support him, his coaching staff, and the squad in achieving their maximum potential in the upcoming months and years,” the statement continued. “He has had a major impact at his previous clubs, and we look forward to his positive impact at Chelsea.”
Kyle MacAulay, the recruitment specialist who has worked with the 47-year-old since his Ostersunds days, as well as assistant head coach Billy Reid, goalie coach Ben Roberts, and first-team coach Bjorn Hamberg will follow him from Brighton to Chelsea.
Potter’s comment after his appointment at Chelsea
Potter added, “I am tremendously delighted and thrilled to represent Chelsea FC, this magnificent football team. “I am ecstatic to work with Chelsea’s new ownership group, and I am looking forward to getting to know and collaborating with the dynamic set of players as well as building a club and culture that our incredible fans can be proud of.
I’d also like to express my gratitude to Brighton & Hove Albion for giving me this chance, and in particular to Tony Bloom and all the players, staff, and fans for their unwavering support throughout my time at the team.

Saturday’s west London derby at Fulham, which will be Potter’s first game in charge, will kick off at 12.30 p.m.
After Chelsea’s 1-0 Champions League loss to Dinamo Zagreb and only six games into the new Premier League season, Tuchel was fired on Wednesday.
On Wednesday afternoon, Chelsea owner Boehly visited Potter in central London for what were reportedly “good conversations” regarding the Brighton manager’s future role at Stamford Bridge and the club’s aspirations to expand the entire football operation.
Andrew Crofts, the interim manager of Brighton U21, will oversee the Seagulls with assistance from Shannon Ruth, Nick Stanley, Adam Lallana, and Jack Stern, the assistant goalkeeping coach, as well as other staff members.
Carragher: I fear for Potter
If Graham Potter were to replace Thomas Tuchel as Chelsea’s manager, Jamie Carragher says he “fears” for him and that he “should be very careful.”
“It’s a very cutthroat club, and I’m not convinced [Graham Potter] is the ideal match – perhaps Chelsea is indicating they want to do things differently in the future by putting a coach in charge instead of a manager or by changing how they operate behind the scenes. But if I were Graham Potter, I would find it extremely difficult to imagine that they will act in a different manner. They’ve just got rid of a manager six games into the season.
“It’s a significant step up in his management career and Chelsea are still one of the best clubs. They are currently the world champions, but you fear for Graham Potter that he’ll be in the same situation as every other Chelsea manager has been for the last 10 years – unless he produces results immediately they’ll be getting themselves another new manager in 12 months.”
Analysis: Potter could be the man to work the magic Boehly wants Ron Walker of Sky Sports
Graham Potter from Brighton checks all the right boxes if Chelsea are serious about completely overhauling the team over the long term, whoever is in charge.
Despite having fewer overall resources than the Blues and any of the other teams around them, his now-former Seagulls team is three points and two spots ahead of Chelsea in the table after six games of the new season.
But it’s not about that tiny sample. What Potter has been constructing in Brighton has been in the works for a lot longer. Their particular brand of passing football is the obvious result of his philosophy, but his work on the south coast goes far beyond the tactics board.
Appointing Potter, who placed 15th and 16th in his first two seasons at the Amex Stadium, will draw criticism for his decision to act after only 100 days of ownership.
However, if Boehly’s reasoning was to hire a coach whose long-term goals he can better align with, as he has privately stated, then Thomas Tuchel’s dismissal, though still harsh, may prove to be a more astute move than it seemed at the time.

The details of Tuchel’s last day at Chelsea
After the brief meeting at 9.30am on Wednesday, when he was dismissed, Tuchel cleared his desk and stayed at the practice field with his departing coaching staff to say their goodbyes.
Before getting back into football, the German manager, who started with the team in January 2021, wants to take a break.
Many Chelsea employees still hold Tuchel in high regard due to the trophies and the leadership he demonstrated under extremely trying conditions. The coronavirus pandemic and the end of the Abramovich era at Chelsea were challenging events, with the latter leading to club sanctions, unpaid employees, and concerns over the club’s viability.
In a meeting on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., Thomas Tuchel was fired. While many important individuals, including Bruce Buck, Marina Granovskaia, and Petr Cech, announced their departures, Tuchel also demonstrated leadership during the takeover saga.
Last season, Tuchel was coveted by teams like Manchester United and Barcelona, but he remained devoted to Chelsea.
Even though Chelsea ended up making a record-breaking £278 million in summer spending, Tuchel and the co-owners disagreed on some goals and tactics.
For instance, Tuchel did not want Cristiano Ronaldo, but the owners were open to the idea of signing him from United.
On Wednesday afternoon at Cobham, Chelsea co-owners Boehly and Behdad Eghbali met with Chelsea players and staff.
They described what had transpired with Tuchel and their plans for the club’s future. Additionally present at the Tuesday game in Zagreb were Boehly and Eghbali.

OFFICIAL : Chelsea disclosed Aubameyang Jersey number
Chelsea has officially completed the signing of former Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on the final day of the summer transfer window. Chelsea fans and football lovers have been keen on knowing Aubameyang jersey number at Stamford Bridge.

The Gabon international will need to overcome the unpleasant trend of the shirt number 9 jersey at Chelsea. It is a trend that any player who picked the number 9 jersey at the club turned out a flop, however, Auba went ahead to take that risk as he was handed the number 9 shirt at Stamford Bridge.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang jersey number at Chelsea
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has chosen to take a risk by picking the number 9 shirt at the club as he is set to lead the attacking line for the blues. Chelsea has had an epileptic attacking force since the exit of Oliver Giroud and a loan move of Lukaku back to his former club Inter.

Chelsea officially unveiled the forward as a new Chelsea signing a day after the closure of the summer transfer window. Aubameyang joined Chelsea from Barcelona for 10m pounds plus Marcos Alonso. Aubameyang has had a great outing in Spain after his controversial Arsenal exit.
90minsoccer understands that the Gabonese striker sealed a two-year contract with the Blues that will keep him at the club until summer 2024. It is a happy reunion between Aubameyang and his former manager Thomas Tuchel who once coached him at Borussia Dortmund. It will be easier for Tuchel to manage the new signing at Chelsea since he is already conversant with his style of play.

Many football lovers including some Chelsea fans believed Aubameyang made the wrong choice of shirt number selection. The allocation of his shirt number can be termed a to be controversial as the number 9 shirt number belongs to Chelsea loanee striker Romelu Lukaku who is on a season-long loan at Inter.

Which Jersey number will Lukaku wear when he returns to Chelsea?
Should Lukaku return to Chelsea next summer, there will definitely be a change of shirt number, as either Lukaku will be made to pick another shirt number or Aubameyang may have to drop the number 9 shirt for the rightful owner.
Before Lukaku, many other players have worn the number 9 shirt at Chelsea, most of which didn’t have a great spell at the club and turned out a flop before exiting the club. Tammy Abraham was the occupant of the shirt number before the arrival of Lukaku and was not performing as expected, however, the introduction of Lukaku into the position didn’t get any better.
Also on the list of players who have won the iconic shirt number at the club are Steve Sidwell, Franco Di Santo, Fernando Torres, Radamel Falcao, Alvaro Morata, and Khalid Boulahrouz among others.
Aubameyang Jersey Number History
However, Aubameyang is no stranger to the shirt number as he had worn the number 9 shirt at his former club Saint-Etienne – during the 2010/11 season – The Gabonese forward also wore the shirt at Dijon in 2008 before his move to Saint-Etienne. During his brief stay at FC Barcelona, Auba occupied the No.17 jersey which is currently occupied by Chelsea’s new signing Raheem Sterling – Also, Auba wore the No.14 shirt at Arsenal, No.17 at Dortmund, and No.7 for most of his time at St Etienne.
Chelsea fans, the head coach, and the entire management of the club will be hoping the player overcomes the ill luck of the number 9 shirt number.

Bailly Predicaments at Man United
After joining the Red Devils in 2016 from Villareal for a fee of £30 million, Bailly has failed to keep up to par and secure a spot in the first squad.
During his 5 years’ stay at Old Trafford, he was only featured in 45 Premier League games due to a series of injury worries that keep the center-back out most of the time.
Undoubtedly, he has fallen down the Man United hierarchy due to the arrival of veteran defenders Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane who joined United during the summer transfer window. Get more Man Utd transfer news here.
