Alejandro Garnacho idolises Cristiano Ronaldo and he imitated his hero by scoring an unstoppable bicycle kick to lead Manchester United to a stonking 3-0 win at Everton.
The home fans were fired up by the 10-point deduction from the Premier League but Garnacho’s outrageous strike, which also had shades of Wayne Rooney’s 2011 goal against Manchester City as well as Ronaldo’s 2018 scissor kick against Juventus, tamed the beast.
United still had to withstand waves of Everton pressure but they ended up leaving with their biggest victory of the season in the league thanks to a penalty from Marcus Rashford – his first goal in almost three months – and a customary Anthony Martial strike against Everton.

Andre Onana (7/10):
Made three saves from Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the first half alone and a fine tip over the bar from Idrissa Gueye. Looking much more impressive lately after his shaky start.
Diogo Dalot (7/10):
Delivered the cross for Garnacho. Looked daring without being erratic.
Victor Lindelof (6/10):
Looked like United’s weak link in defence and targeted by Everton but came out unscathed.
Harry Maguire (8/10):
A commanding performance and the latest confirmation that he is back to his best.
Luke Shaw (8/10):
A superb return after three months out. His experience and class shone through.
Midfield
Kobbie Mainoo (9/10):
A sensational Premier League debut. Calm, confident and highly skillful. Imagine how different the season could be had he not got injured in July.
Bruno Fernandes (6/10):
A flat performance from the captain overall although he did play a couple of useful through balls, one of which led to the penalty.
Scott McTominay (5/10):
Didn’t do much aside from a couple of distance shots which missed the target
Attack
Alejandro Garnacho (8/10):
His goal of the season contender sucked the venom out of the Goodison bear pit. Had some nice link ups with Rashford and almost slid in a second goal.
Anthony Martial (7/10):
Pretty quiet in the first half but ended up making two decisive moves after the break. Scored his ninth goal against Everton, who have to be his favourite opponents.
Marcus Rashford (6/10):
Did not play well and created few moments to remember. But the important thing is that his long goal drought is over. Hopefully his confidence will grow as a result.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (7/10):
Made some expert tackles when he came on to quash the chances of an Everton revival.
Sofyan Amrabat (5/10):
A big downgrade on Mainoo.
Facundo Pellistri (6/10):
Did some good defensive work to see the result out.

Only came on in the 84th minute.
Erik ten Hag (7/10):
Got his team selection spot-on despite another spate of injuries and made the right changes.
