Bayern Munich star Harry Kane creates Bundesliga history as he scores hat-trick in Der Klassiker against Borussia Dortmund

Harry Kane was the star of Der Klassiker as he scored yet another hat-trick to create Bundesliga history.

The England international has been nothing short of sensational since joining from Tottenham in the summer.

And the Bundesliga’s top scorer wasted no time in scoring against Bayern’s arch-rivals as he tapped home from close range in the ninth minute.

A swift counter-attack saw Leroy Sane played in down the left flank, who then found the run of Kane inside the box.

And all that was left for Kane to do was slot into an open goal with Bayern threatening to run riot at Signal Iduna Park.

It is Kane’s 13th German top-flight goal of the season in just his tenth outing.

Bayern broke the deadlock in the fourth minute away at Dortmund, with defender Dayot Upamecano heading home Sane’s corner.

Thomas Tuchel’s side knew anything less that a win was good enough following Bayer Leverkusen’s win against Hoffenheim earlier on Saturday.

And the Bavarian outfit had a point to prove after they were dumped out of the German Cup to third-tier side Saarbrucken on Wednesday.

Kane then scored his 14th and 15th league goals in the second half to become the first player in Bundesliga history to bang in 15 goals in their opening ten matches.

His second of the match saw Kane drill low into the bottom left corner in the 72nd minute, before finding the same spot when sent through on goal in injury time.

Speaking ahead of the first Der Klassiker of the campaign, Dortmund boss Edin Terzic claimed he was confident his side could keep Kane quiet.

He said: “We know his teammates will be looking for him so often.

“He keeps dropping into the No10 and No8 positions, and we as a team want to counter that by narrowing the gaps.

“We always want to create a two-vs-one situation defensively. We know about Harry Kane’s qualities.

“It’s an exciting task. We are very confident that we will do well tomorrow.”

It’s safe to say his game plan didn’t work as Kane – and Bayern – ran riot to close the gap on Leverkusen to two points.
