A lot of Manchester United fans have been eager to know about Casemiro shirt number at Old Trafford. Interestingly, the wait is over as the shirt number of the ace midfielder has been announced by the club.

Manchester United’s new signing Casemiro will be wearing the number 18 shirt at Old Trafford, according to a statement from Manchester United.

The former Real Madrid midfielder wore number 18 throughout his stay at Real Madrid’s youth academy, but wore number 14 throughout his seven-year career with the Santiago Bernabeu club’s main squad.

Christian Eriksen took the number 14 after Jesse Lingard’s move on a free transfer to newly promoted Nottingham Forest, and now Casemiro has chosen the number 18 jersey left vacant by Bruno Fernandes’ move to the number 8 position.

Ashley Young, Fraizer Campbell, and possibly most famous Paul Scholes, were recognized by Casemiro during his address earlier this week, are former Man Utd players to wear the number 18 shirt.

“I believe there are players you recognize throughout your life “He explained to Andy Mitten. “So, in terms of role models in this position, my childhood idol was [Zinedine] Zidane, whilst my favorite at Manchester United was Paul Scholes.

Michael Carrick’s comment on Casemiro Shirt Number

“He was a little player, but he was a fighter, and he gave everything he had on the field. His passes over fifty to seventy meters were phenomenal. This position at Manchester United has traditionally been filled by talented players. In addition to [Michael] Carrick, Man United has always had excellent players in that position and in midfield, in my opinion.

“The tiny guy [Scholes] was extremely excellent, and what I enjoyed about him as a player was that despite being short, he played hard and fairly.”

After an outstanding tenure with Real Madrid, the Brazil international completes a move to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window.

Manchester United has completed the signing of Real Madrid’s legendary midfielder Casemiro as the Red Devils try to build on a difficult commencement of the season. Casemiro won five Champions Leagues in 9 years with Real Madrid, and Erik ten Hag will be confident the Brazilian can provide the necessary expertise in the Manchester United midfield.

Among the club’s summer additions, he joins Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, and Lisandro Martinez.

How much did Manchester United pay for Casemiro?

Casemiro was signed by Manchester United for an initial price of £60 million ($70 million), making him their 6th most expensive signing ever.

How long is Casemiro’s contract with Manchester United?
Casemiro has signed a 4-year contract with an option for a fifth year at Old Trafford, keeping him there until 2026.

His salary has grown, and while it will not approach twice his earnings at Madrid, he will still be among United’s highest-paid players.

Official Comments on Casemiro’s move to Manchester United?

Manchester United is delighted to have signed Casemiro.

The announcement was followed by an emotional tribute to the Brazilian. They cited his accomplishments with the Spanish powerhouses, which included five Champions Leagues and three La Liga championships.

They stated, “Casemiro will forever symbolize our club’s principles.” A model player who has given his all for Real Madrid.

Real Madrid is and always will be his home, and we wish him and his family the best of luck as he embarks on this new chapter of his life.

In an interview with the United website, Casemiro stated, “The chance to begin a new adventure at Man Utd and in the Premier League is incredibly thrilling.”

“Throughout my career, I’ve worked with a number of exceptional managers, and after meeting Erik and hearing his ideas, I can’t wait to work collaboratively with him, his staff, and my new teammates in the future years.

“I’m concluding one magnificent journey in Madrid and beginning another in Manchester as keen as ever to deliver success to this great club and make our fans proud by winning football matches and trophies.

“Everyone is familiar with the history of Manchester United, the club’s global significance, and what it means to its fans. To represent United is an honor, and I am willing to do anything to assist the team to realize its goals.”

Why did Manchester United sign Casemiro?

All summer, Man United has been searching for a midfield reinforcement because their top target, Frenkie de Jong, appears unwilling to leave Barcelona.

Recently, attention has changed as United lined up Fabian Ruiz and Adrien Rabiot. However, Psg, a French giant, appears ready to sign Ruiz, but Rabiot is rumored to have demanded extremely high pay to join the Red Devils.

After so many failures, Ten Hag has come to the conclusion that he cannot continue to rely on Scott McTominay and Fred for the duration of the season and has intensified his search for a playmaker.

With the arrival of Casemiro, how will Man Utd line up?

As he has done when playing for Real Madrid, Casemiro will probably be asked to sit at the base of the midfield and assist in defending the back four. The Brazilian will most probably have an impact because Ten Hag’s team now seems to be without a player who is a natural in this position.

Along with Christian Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes, and fellow countryman Fred, he will be attempting to form a midfield combination. Ten Hag will be hoping that Casemiro’s wealth of experience will relieve the defensive burden from his other midfielders, allowing them to focus on their attacking ability.

Rangers Youngster Sets Celtic Fans Alight with Bold Celebration in Epic Kilmarnock Moment!

In a Scottish Premiership clash that had fans on the edge of their seats, Rangers’ loanee Findlay Curtis turned heads with a cheeky celebration that has since gone viral online. The 19-year-old, on loan at Kilmarnock, was at the heart of the drama as his side surged into an early lead against fierce rivals Celtic at Rugby Park — and he didn’t hold back in celebrating it.

Curtis, deployed in a more advanced role for this fixture, made the most of his opportunity. After Tyreece John-Jules opened the scoring and Kilmarnock doubled their advantage, cameras caught the young winger raising his arms and gesturing in celebration directly in front of the Celtic supporters in the away end — a moment that instantly lit up social media.

Although his exuberant celebration was quickly cut short when veteran keeper Kasper Schmeichel ushered him away, the damage was done — pundits and fans alike have been talking about it ever since. That kind of on-field bravado in front of the rival support doesn’t happen every day, and it’s one that will stick in the minds of supporters on both sides.

Whether you see it as passionate football emotion or a bit of mind games, Curtis’ reaction added another unforgettable moment to a season already packed with drama and rivalry — showing once again why the Scottish Premiership never fails to entertain.

End of the Road at Parkhead? Andy Walker Drops Brutal Verdict on Celtic’s Japanese Duo

“Are Celtic’s Japanese Stars Past Their Best? Andy Walker Predicts End of the Road for Maeda & Hatate”

Recent pundit commentary has stirred fresh debate among fans of Celtic Football Club, with veteran analyst Andy Walker making bold claims about two of the team’s key Japanese players — Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate. Walker’s verdict? This could be the final chapter at Parkhead for both players if they don’t turn their seasons around.

Struggles on the Pitch

Walker’s view stems from both men’s current dip in form. Hatate, normally a creative midfield presence, was recently scrutinised after a costly mistake led to a penalty for Livingston — and Walker suggested it might be time for him to lose his place temporarily in the starting XI to find confidence again.

Meanwhile, Maeda — who once electrified Scottish football with blistering pace and a PFA Player of the Year-winning season — has yet to recapture that spark this campaign. The forward is playing well below the high standards he set previously, and Walker believes both he and Hatate may have run their course at Celtic unless they rediscover their best form before the season ends.

Why This Matters

Walker’s assessment resonates beyond just match performance:

  • Maeda’s Blocked Transfer: Earlier in the season, Maeda openly admitted he wanted a move away — only for Celtic to block it — and pundits speculated this block may have affected his focus and sharpness.
  • Legacy and Timing: If both players fail to make a strong impact before the campaign’s conclusion, Walker argues their legacies at Celtic could be overshadowed by disappointment rather than remembered for their earlier success.

 The Bigger Picture

Celtic’s squad is at a crossroads. With new tactics, fresh faces and evolving expectations under manager Brendan Rodgers, long-serving players must justify their place or risk being phased out. Walker’s blunt but insightful commentary has sparked fresh debate among supporters over who should lead the club forward — and who’s time might be running out.
