United have a variety of injury issues and are dealing with the fact that Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, and Rasmus Hojlund are all currently in the treatment room. Adding Rashford to that list would be a significant blow.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Southgate said, “I think he’s probably OK, but we just thought given the nature of the collision it was a chance to get Cole (Palmer) into the game. I haven’t assessed too much but I think he was OK when he came off.”
Rashford has been in dismal form for United this season and has only managed one goal and three assists in all competitions. Still, he has started every game when fit, and losing him would be a headache for manager Erik ten Hag.
He will be assessed and is likely to be rested against North Macedonia on Monday, with England having already qualified for next season’s tournament. United will be keeping a close eye on developments.
